Eczema

Eczema

Article by A.Vogel

In treating eczema or any other skin condition, it is of primary importance to discover the cause of the disease. It is usually to be found in faulty metabolism or an allergy to certain foods or other irritants

Naturally, these factors will have to be taken into consideration. In many cases a complete change of diet may be necessary. Without question, the bowels and kidneys should be stimulated so as to enable them to function adequately. Then we must find out if it is a chronic or acute skin eruption. External irritation, such as that occasioned by certain occupations, can play a part in the development of such skin diseases, but frequently it may be a hereditary condition.

For external treatment concentrated whey has often given good results for eczema. It is a biological lactic acid preparation which destroys harmful bacteria, stimulates the circulation and regenerates the skin by virtue of the minerals and enzymes it contains. If it is too strong and makes the sore places smart or burn excessively, dilute with a little boiled water.

As a rule, however, concentrated whey alone is not sufficient. Many skin eruptions require internal as well as external treatment. It is important to improve the condition of the blood and the lymph. Viola tricolor can often help to reduce the inflammation and feed the skin.

Even the most difficult case will yield to this treatment providing the proper diet is maintained. Reduce the salt in your diet as well, making sure that very little protein is ingested. When it comes to skin disorders, salt is a poison and the metabolic toxins resulting from an excess intake of animal protein aggravate these diseases in general and psoriasis in particular.

For psoriasis, we find that the best remedy is Aloe vera – both taken internally as well as applied externally. In addition, I find that Milk Thistle is an excellent cleansing herb for this condition. Again, reduce the salt and protein intake in your diet.

Anyone afflicted with this disease knows what a terrible strain it can be on the nerves. Once the awful irritation starts up very few patients can bear it without scratching themselves.

Psoriasis is not infectious and cannot be spread from one person to another. It is, however, possible to pass it on to one’s children through the genes. For this reason, make sure that these children have plenty of calcium and vitamins in their diet and take proper care of their skin.
